The food debut matters because Friday is not a routine home game. The Boston Celtics lost their season opener 121-113 to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday after leading by 22 points, and the New York Knicks arrive as the reigning NBA champions. Scratch-made tacos and BBQ round out a deeper TD Garden lineup this season


TD Garden has also revamped its Taqueria and Back Bay BBQ stands for this season. Both menus now use ingredients made from scratch, with proteins seasoned, smoked and prepared in-house daily, and the Taqueria has switched to corn tortillas for a more authentic street taco, with churro chips as a new dessert.


Back Bay BBQ adds strawberry shortcake of its own, while a second allergen-friendly location offers salads, a coconut chicken curry rice bowl, a teriyaki chicken rice noodle bowl, yucca fries and falafel for fans who need gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian options at TD Garden.





Boston needs a bounce-back on the court as much as a fresh start off it
